This weekend was our 5th Annual Summer Party! It was held at our new home in Rhode Island and we were happy to see that so many friends from afar were still able to make the trip. The theme us girls chose to stick to was sort of a Rubics Cube theme…i.e. we all picked a color and went head to toe in it (literally our toenails were painted in our chosen color!)
Friday night, 5 of the girls arrived and after doing some cooking and prep-work, we ended up playing the Game of Things and had LOTS of laughs.
We made wine ice cubes, 160 jell-o shots (8 different flavors), a whole ton of sangria, a 7-layer dip and some signs…

Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early, made an iced coffee run then got to work! We set up this big gazebo that really required 4 people but we pulled it off with 3 (all girls to boot)

Came out pretty good if you ask me!
Then we set up the beverages in the kitchen: Jell-O shots, sangria, lemonade and rum punch and the outdoor beverages: soda, water, keg and ice luge.

More people started to arrive & let the fun begin!

We had a 14-person (boys vs. girls, obvi) game of Flip Cup that got pretty intense. The girls won of course. Here we are starting off the first round.
Once it started getting a little dark & the mosquitoes invaded in on the fun, we moved the party inside and DJ Jay Free & his loyal followers quickly set up shop.
We had a 15-person game of Apples to Apples that got very interesting with some wagers… Let’s just say that money was lost.
Around 10:30, we had the Fist Pumping Contest!

Jay was the DJ (obviously, right?!) and we had a few less than 10 contestants to start off. Here’s how it worked: Jay would play a part of an upbeat, fist-pump-worthy song and everyone would have to do their best fist pump. Then the judge (yours truly) would go around and give the worthy pumpers a card that said “Next Round” on one side and a “Jersey Shore-ism” on the other side. These ranged from “MVP” and “Grenade Free America” to “We Have a Situation”.

Here’s the pics of the contest:

Finally, a tired pup hiding at the end of a LONG weekend…
