Today’s Pearly Wisdom topic is:
First Birthday Themes!
Since this week on the blog has been spent re-capping Jack’s first birthday, I thought it’d be fun to hear from other Mama’s what their ideas were and are!
Here’s a few ideas:
Samantha
We're doing Pirates!
Erika
She’s a summer baby so something summery and beachy might be our theme.
Emily
Our daughter is named Georgia so we’re having a Georgia Peach Party. Everyone is going to be invited to wear their favorite peach colored attire, drink peach tea and peach soda along with a peach flavored cake, and a peach piƱata! We’re having a photo booth as well and I’m toying with the idea of an ice cream bar!
Sara
A book party where you ask guests to bring their favorite bedtime story and send personalized book plates with the invite that read "This book was given to NAME by:_________ on his/her 1st birthday" - so many possibilities with this idea, so wish I would have done it.
McKeever
I have seen a Winter W"one"derland theme that I thought was so cute.
Melissa
We're thinking jungle animals, maybe just narrowing it down to monkeys. You could also do sports, farm animals, bugs, monsters, etc. for a boy. I've seen some really cute owl, ladybug, Alice in Wonderland, and Wizard of Oz parties for girls. Pinterest is a great resource to find ideas for parties.
And here are some themes in action!
Shanna
Sam's first birthday theme was "MVP/Rookie of the Year/All star” because of his all star 1st year of life, making so much progress (Sam was born 3.5 months early). We had grass centerpieces, baseball escort cards and a concession stand for favors!
Gemma
We had Oliver’s party at the Brightspot Childrens Playplace. I wanted his party to be fun and also wanted the kids to play and enjoy themselves. To be honest I didn't want to have to entertain and keep the kids occupied the whole time. Dawne and her team were awesome, they entertained the kids with arts and crafts, bubbles, parachute games, songs......the list goes on. His party was a blast, EVERYONE enjoyed themselves, Oliver and his friends LOVED the whole experience.
Lyndsey
The theme for Liam’s birthday was One Year Old in a Flash. I got the idea for the theme from one of my favorite blogs, The Macs, and she originally got it from here. I picked elements from both parties that I loved as well as finding many great ideas on Pinterest for birthdays in general. I loved this theme because I have been all about capturing the moments and memories of Liam's first year that have truly flown by. I also really loved the idea of the time capsule and definitely wanted to incorporate that.
Sarah
Emmaline’s first birthday party theme was ladybugs!
Annie
Cullen's First Birthday Theme was Mickey Mouse!
