(A day late this week because yesterday was my birthday post!)
Today’s Pearly Wisdom topic is:
Best Steals & Deals
There’s LOTS of excellent advice today including tips and website recc’s! I’ll summarize the most popular sites listed but you should really check out what each Mama has to say!
For us, we *try* to bargain shop; in that we look for sales & coupons and also visit outlet stores (Childrens Place, Carters and Osh Kosh all have outlets!) Another thing we end up doing is buying off season. For instance, Jack was in 9-12 month clothes this Christmas and after Christmas, prices were SLASHED! So what we did was picked up some 24-month outfits for next year!
And here’s a list of some of the sites most Mama’s seem to agree on:

Now let’s hear from the Mama’s….

I guess this could be for any item but the one thing I am the best at getting steals and deals are smocked clothing. There is no need to buy a brand new $70 smocked outfit when you can find it gently used or new on Facebook. I am constantly on eBay searching and on Facebook. Facebook has so many pages that you can buy from. A few of my favorites are Lolly Wolly Doodle, Smartie Pants Kids, The Pink Trunk Boutique, Smock-a-Dots.I also love a good children's consignment store. I am always on the lookout for upcoming sizes. Like right now, Grayson is wearing winter 12 month clothes, so I have already stocked up on 18 month summer items. If I see other sizes on sale for a great price, I mean $20 and below, I'll buy it ahead of time.

I shop clearance racks, craigslist, consignment shops. I sign up for coupons, and joined Totsy, Zulily, and AmazonMom. Cloth diapering has saved me a boatload too!

AmazonMom is a huge life saver. Free shipping, subscribe and save deals. SO WORTH IT.
I love the sites Baby Steals, Mamabargains, and Baby Half Off. I've gotten really cute stuff at great prices from these places.

Ask for samples at your pediatricians office! Every time we went in they would give us diapers, formula, coupons, etc. When I asked why they did this they replied that most offices will do this but you have to ask. They saved us so much money on formula!
AmazonMom was fantastic! There subscribe and save feature was awesome! I still order our diapers from them. They come automatically at the same time every month!

-I use Pampers rewards program (Pampers Gifts to Grow). Usually when you register at Target or BabiesRus you’ll get info on it. All Pampers products have a sticker on the inside with a code. You type the code in and you get points. You can buy things with your points that they have listed on their website. With my points I buy Shutterfly prints. So far (in 8 months) I have received 4-8x10’s, 8 5x7’s, and 100 4x6’s for free. It’s really awesome!
Shelley
-I got a ton of great deals on Craigslist and wrote about some of them here!

I’m not sure I know much on this subject. We were so crazed in the first few months that our motto was Is it going to make our lives easier? Then get it. The closest place you can. I do know Wal-Mart is the best place for prices for ANYTHING baby related. But that’s pretty much true with everything right?
